This Year we had no idea what to expect when it came to our club anglers showing up and showing out. There were some impressive fish caught this year with some unbelievable limits. The chase was on for Angler of the Year right out the gate this season. We took the best 4 out of 6 events to calculate the points earned by our Club members. It was a close one and there were anglers really pushing to get those top 3 spots.
These anglers toughed out some really hot days and a super cold start to the year. Many of them had never fished a competitive kayak trail event before. We are truly proud and honored to have all these amazing people and supporters in the club this year.
Angler of the Year
David Dixon 215 points
Dave put his nose to the grind stone this year and it defiantly showed at the end of the season. Catching limits wasn’t a problem for him, it was those pesky upgrades. Dave hooked some big fish year and hooked the trust of every angler in the club. He showed true sportsmanship and selflessness this year that cannot be measured. Congratulations Mr. Dixon and Thank you for keeping our fellow anglers safe out there on the water.
Kyle Rocca 192 points
Kyle showed experience of a veteran fisherman at such a young age. Using that knowledge to his ability paid off for Kyle this year. Landing some of the biggest fish this season, Kyle also landed himself a 2nd place spot as Angler of the Year. Congratulations Kyle.
Dylan Fuqua 190 points
Its difficult not to be impressed by this young mans pride and ability. Dylan has pulled off an outstanding run at the end of our first season. Dylan displayed perseverance and determination through out the end of this year. Catching limits at the very end and throwing his arm out to get that 2 inch upgrade. Never getting discouraged and keeping his head up is what granted Dylan his 3rd place spot as Angler of the Year. Congratulations Dylan. At 14 years old, You show a maturity that I wish so many anglers would emulate.
