The Fall is a Plastic Lovers Dream. You can take your time as things begin to slow down and really work structure that for the most part of the year is harder to get to or around with leaves and grass in the way. Throwing your favorite ribbon tail, fluke, swimbait or brush hog might be something your comfortable with, but don’t overlook obvious alternatives for your T-rigs and shaky heads. There are a multitude of Craw-like baits out on the market that can be used in many ways. From jig trailers to weightless, these little plastic bugs really do the trick this time of year. A Fall Favorite would be a simple slip rig with a 3/16oz tungsten and a 4/0 EWG. This setup in the Fall Transition allows for the craw to still get great action, but maintain a low laying approach. During this time, those crayfish sneaking off between the rocks and ledges make for a fantastic breakfast for a hungry bass. Check your next catch and look for those little bug antennas sticking out their mouth. That’ll let you know what to throw.

Good Luck and Tight Lines

  1. Crushed them on black and blue jigs with black and blue creature baits last Monday. All off secondary points.
